Meet the Attorney

Jeffrey E. Marion grew up in Tonawanda, New York. He graduated high school from St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute in 1987, and went on to State University of New York College at Geneseo. He graduated with two Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and English in 1991. In 1994, he obtained his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University Claude W. Petit College of Law. While at Ohio Northern, Jeff was an exchange student at at the law school of the University of Iceland.

Jeff was admitted to practice in New York State in March of 1995. He worked as a criminal defense attorney until obtaining full-time employment with Shaw & Shaw, P.C. in Hamburg, New York. After leaving Shaw & Shaw in 2003, Jeff founded this office. From 2016-2020, Jeff also served as a Senior Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of Amherst. While there, Jeff filed the first lawsuit by a town in New York State against the manufacturers and distributors of opioid pain medication. 

Jeff is currently admitted to practice law in New York, Pennsylvania, and Colorado, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of New York, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims.

He has served as the Co-Chair of the Erie County Bar Association’s High School Mock Trial Competition, and as Chair of the Committee for the Disabled. He is the current Co-Chair of the Erie County Bar Association’s Committee on Veterans’ and Servicemembers’ Legal Issues. He is also a Past Chair of the American Association for Justice’s Committee for the Disabled. He currently serves as that organization’s  Vice-Chair of the Section Leaders’ Council and as Co-Chair of the Opioids Litigation Group. Jeff is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. 

Jeff is a frequent lecturer at both local and national CLE Programs. He lectures on topics such as Veterans’ Disability Law, focus groups, and juror persuasion.  

Jeff holds a “D” Coaching License from US Soccer. He is also has a Level 4 Coaching Certification from USA Hockey. He currently coaches Kenmore Sting Boys U19.
